Sorry for the silence, but October is truly the maddest month at Casa Macabre. I've spent the bulk of my free time fashioning giant papier mache spiders for our haunted dungeon (while watching horror movies, of course), and haven't had much time for blogging.
Our dungeon isn't quite photogenic yet, so I thought I'd drop in with some pics from last year's Halloween party/haunted house. My son wanted an Egyptian-themed party, so we did what we could with our limited resources and came up with a haunted tomb that kept he and his friends occupied for days. Enjoy the highlight pics.

| The Pharoah himself. We told the kids their goal was to steal a treasure from the mummy's tomb. As soon as they did, the statue of Anubis (which was actually me in costume) stood up and chased them up the stairs. One kid tried to fight me. |

It was terrible. But looking interesting. I like the most last one photos. I am thinking to decor my room as same as you have shown above.

I loved the Egyptian theme! The Anubis costume was cool and that mummy was pretty freaky. How nice of you to give the kids that spooky experience and even take a few hits from the fighting kid. ;) The spider pinata was neat too!

Unfortunately I suffered a severe case of Halloween burnout this year due to being way too ambitious, spending too much time making papier-mache spiders, and ignoring the basics like cleaning out my completely junked-up basement enough to turn into a haunted dungeon. Add to that a terrible head-cold for the 4 days leading up to the holiday, and you've got a disaster. In the end, my wife and I decided to scrap the party plans, concentrate on decorating the path to our door for Trick or Treaters, and actually enjoy ourselves a bit.

ReplyDeleteYou'd be very welcome to. Hopefully next year we'll get our poop grouped and make our dungeon a reality. I made a bunch of giant spiders for the walk up to our house though. I'll have to post those soon.
